The arcade version utilizes SEGA aime card function which is an IC card that enable the player to save the records of the game. Player able to choose 4 difficulties which is Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme. The game features music from Hatsune Miku: Project Diva series and Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai, along with several arcade special musics. This particular version features new mechanics such as hold buttons where player able to hold a special button for as long as the player able to get extra score, the new arrow shape notes where player have to swipe their hands on the Touch Slider panel according to the arrow direction, and pressing multiple buttons up to 4 buttons at one time. Since the game is a modified port from the original series, the game plays similarly to the original one, player have to press either 4 buttons which is symbolized as the PlayStation buttons (Cross, Square, Triangle, and Circle) in the rhythm to score as many points as possible. The sequel features improved visuals, a new Touch Slider panel for the new arrow shape notes, and numerous new songs. Developed by SEGA on the SEGA nu arcade board and released on November 21st, 2013. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone is the sequel to the arcade version of the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva series.
